In a massive escalation between India and China, at least 20 Indian Army soldiers, including a Colonel, have been martyred in a violent clash on Monday night with Chinese troops at the Galwan Valley in the Ladakh sector. Initially, the Indian Army had confirmed only three casualties. However, in a statement issued late on Tuesday, it added that 17 soldiers later succumbed to critical injuries.It may be noted that Colonel Santosh Babu, the Commanding Officer of 16, Bihar Regiment, Havildar K Pazhani and Sepoy Kundan Kumar Ojha laid down their lives during the skirmish with the Chinese Army on Monday night. Apart from the above all the 17 martyrs were also from the 16, Bihar Regiment. The names of all the 20 martyrs are as follows:

8. NK (NA) Deepak Kumar - Rewa
9. Sep Rajesh Orang - Birghum
10. Sep Kundan Kumar Ojha - Sahibganj
11.Sep Chandrakanta Pradhan - Kandhamal
12. Sep Ganesh Ram - Kanker
13. Sep Ankush - Hamirpur
14. Sep Gurbinder - Sangrur
15. Sep Gurtej Singh - Mansa
16. Sep Chandan Kumar - Bhojpur
17. Sep Kundan Kumar - Saharsa
18. Sep Aman Kumar - Samstipur
19. Sep Jai Kisho Singh - Vaishali
20. Sep Ganesh Hansda - East Singhbhumi
